Blaine of the La Follette progressives, who opposed it. With most precincts counted, Lenroot's own committee has conceded the Senate nomination to Blaine — but the progressives lost the statehouse race, where Secretary of State Fred R. Zimmerman leads Attorney General Herman L. Ekern.
