ContextThe Rev. Vincent D. Warren, a Catholic priest of Norfolk, was seized Wednesday night by some twenty-eight white-robed and hooded men as he sat in an automobile beside a highway near Princess Anne Courthouse. The Klan, at the height of its strength and openly hostile to Catholics, is the obvious suspicion; Father Warren has now formally asked the circuit judge for a special grand jury, and says he believes he could identify at least one of his abductors.
